Message Every standalone I've looked into over the years (including the one I've had since 2003) still requires a WB controller. It can datalog/autotune/etc from it unlike the stock ECU, but most don't have a built in wideband control unit. Having a gauge is optional (I have a WB and a standalone, and currently don't run a gauge since I need to finish building it into my rearview mirror one of these days).

Even the original AEM standalone I looked at years ago required a separate WB setup if you wanted that capability. I have no clue about the newer versions, so that may be a thing of the past.
